Fall 2011 Girls and Boys Programming

Wow, what a summer! From a win at the WSGA father-daughter (way to go Funks), numerous PGA top tens, impressive wins and just some all-around solid golf and qualifications, the kids in the Valley have represented themselves well this summer! As Fall approaches, we wish all the collegians success (academically and athletically) as they return to school and we eagerly watch the high school girls dig into their season. Steve and I never tire of watching these amazing young people step up and realize their potential!

League, Lessons and Camps

Weekly lessons, competitions and games, coupled with instruction from PGA professionals and guidance from high school mentors makes this one of the most unique programs in the Valley. Each child is given the opportunity to learn and grow from lessons and weekly on-course experiences. Younger children learn proper rules and etiquette, so they can play quickly and move around a golf course in a manner that will make their parents proud. Older players are given a chance to implement a new concept each week and progress their skill level substantially throughout the summer.

Meet the Interns

Carolyn has asked that I introduce myself: I am Blaine Lynch; AJ Selig and I will be interning for both Swing Solutions and the Bobbie Barnett Foundation this summer. I am looking forward to meeting many of you, helping Steve and Carolyn share their passion for golf and learning a bit about the business world all in one summer! Yesterday was my first day on the job. I am a member of the Carroll University Men's Golf Team and we were lucky enough to qualify for the National NCAA Division III Championships in North Carolina, so I was there in early May. Our team did not make the final cut, but it was an incredible experience nonetheless! I am pursuing a business management degree at Carroll, so I am excited about this internship on many levels.

Mid Term

Only in Wisconsin can we take 100 people and actively run a golf program in the middle of the Winter! Many times I think we are envious of our fellow citizens in the southern part of the US, but I have travelled extensively and I find that folks who experience winter are heartier, more imaginative and willing to go the extra distance in order to achieve their goals.

2011 Winter Program Announcement

IN THIS ISSUE... :: Fall Golf Sale :: Winter Program :: Golf Specific Work outs :: Florida Spring Trip As we head into the holiday season, it seems the perfect time to set your clubs down and take a breather. I call it my 'hibernation instinct' - it happens in Wisconsin. I am actually an individual who personally struggles with the faster pace of life that was not a hallmark of my generation. I still think that Christmas decorations should wait until after we celebrate Thanksgiving. So, it is ironic that I am sending out information on programs that are not taking place for three to five months. However, I can also understand the need to plan ahead for events that need room in the family schedule. It is in that spirit that send this "heads up." I have attached links for the informational flyers for both the Spring Break and Winter Program on the bottom of the repective blocks. Also, follow the link to the Appleton Golf sale for times and dates!

Class Schedule for Winter Program

Welcome to a new season with new opportunities for growth and learning! The first step on any journey is perhaps the most important. Some of you are returning for a fourth or fifth season; others are new to this experience. Here's the deal with golf: a perfect and attainable score would be an eagle on every hole. Until we are there, we probably have room to learn. Sit down with a gaggle of golf professionals and listen to them analyze a round or performance and you will know that the process is never boring, always ongoing and ever-changing. To the veterans, we promise to move you forward and challenge you each week.

Winter Program Starts Sat Jan 28!

Typically, we do not start the program until February, but the early Spring break has pushed everything up a bit. Steve and I will be hustling home from Florida over the next two days. We will be in the "office" friday and ready to start saturday morning. If you have any questions, I will be in the car and close to my phone; please just give me a call - 858-0388. Please bring a 7-iron. SW and a putter to filming, a notebook to lecture class (if you left yours from last year, it is probably still there), and whatever you like to practice (I suggest at least a 7-iron and SW, but you may take your entire bag if you like).

BBF PGA Champ Trip

The PGA Championship is back at Whistling Straits this August! We will gather at the Swing Solutions parking lot at 8am. Our return time will be approximately 6pm. The day includes a t-shirt, a bus ride, autograph game and a ticket. Participants must bring their own lunch money. Interested? Send us an e-mail at howe2golf@aol.com and we will send you a permission slip (for participants under 18). The trip is limited to the first 60 to respond. Parents interested? We can take 40 parents, as each adult ticket allows us to bring in four children, so there is a multiplier effect. We would welcome your participation! Make it a family day! Do I have to take the bus? No, but please let us know ahead of time.
