Swing Solutions

Dear Past Player of the Year, Eric HuhnParents and Players

Since 2002, Swing Solutions has run a Winter Prep golf program, aimed at helping young golfers set goals and work towards reaching their potential relative to golf.  Along the way, many players discover that a dream is really a call to action.  Our job at Swing Solutions is to provide the knowledge and the framework so that players can reach their goals.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Barnett-Howe, PGA

Winter Prep Program

  • Filming
Each participant will be grouped with players of equal caliber/age or experience.  They will come once a week for their filming and swing time with Carolyn.  During each session they will be given an analysis that will provide them with a direction for improvement.  They will take notes and share those notes with the golf professionals who are supervising the practice nights.  At the end of eight weeks, we hope to have made steady and substantial progress with each student.

  • Practice Sessions
The focus of this session allows the individuals time to practice the skills and movements that were identified during filming.  The notes taken during filming periods will allow the supervising golf pros to work with each golfer on their individual strengths and weaknesses. We will utilize St Margaret Mary in Neenah for our Saturday practice sessions, as well as two Appleton elementary schools TBD for the weeknight practices.
  • Lecture Series
Golfers will be invited to listen to weekly lectures from a wide array of sources. Speakers include golf instructors, coaches, and past champions such as Carolyn Barnett-Howe, Steve Howe, and Dr. John Konsek. Participants will also hear about the mind and body aspects of golf from psychologist Todd Monger and physical therapist Steve Barnett.

 Reaching Goals
Sarah and Grace
Each player's success is important to us. We are happy to say that the 100 children participating in the program come from 17 different schools from around the greater Fox Valley!
Whether the goal is making the team, being a member of the varsity squad, making it to State or playing college golf, the program is designed to fit the needs of the individual.

We will need to know what nights work best for each individual.  I will try to accommodate each individual to the best of my abilities, but it is inevitable that some folks will have to accept their second choice.  Player's are welcomed to form groups with friends, however, skill level differences may dictate otherwise.  In addition, we will also work with students' schedules for other extracurriculars and sports.  Please call us if you have a conflict that you are trying to balance, so that we may work together for the best interest of your child.
